Title: PokeLevels
Post by: MasterAssassin82 on May 24, 2012, 03:52:57 am
Mcmmo replacement Plugin idea: (because a lot of people don't like it)
-Each person starts at Lv.1 and can level up like in mcmmo, up to Lv.100
-No individual stats, just one overall.
-When you reach Lv.100 you can   /levelrestart    which gives you 15 diamonds, and says before your level, how many times you have /levelrestart'ed (note: leveling up would take way longer than mcmmo stats do now)
-The power increase gained by leveling up would not be so high as to render a lower level person useless against a higher leveled person, but would provide a good boost.

I've always liked the idea of spells associated with types, but that's just me

 Since there are no individual stats, would you be able to deal a lot of damage unarmed, with swords, with axes, and with bows all at the same time if you were a high level? I also suggest taking away the level restart count and shortening the amount from 15 diamonds from a restart to 10 diamonds. We could also combine that with this, but with more types to choose from:

Player Types:
   -RANDOMLY selected, either FIRE, WATER, or GRASS, would say it before a players name as the first letter of the
    type    [F]  [W]  [G]
   -Super effective and not very effective implemented
    example: slightly more damage when a FIRE type pvp's a GRASS type
   -Maybe different kill/death messages?

Yeah, all your stats would go up as you level up, so you wouldn't have to train them individually  :D

And about the /levelrestart reward, it really depends on how long the coders would make it take to get to Lv.100, I'm thinking pretty long would be best, then the levelrestart-count would be a true sign of skill.

I think this would be better than mcmmo because it would not render a lower level person useless against a higher one like mcmmo does, it would just give them a boost. Mcmmo takes the leveling too far to be used on a server like this in my opinion.

Maybe we could implement stats such as Defense, Attack, and Special with this?(NOTE: The Special stat is from R/G/B) The higher your Attack, the more you can hit with fists, swords, axes, and bows. The higher your Defense, the more chances you have to take hits from people with high Attack. Special affects stuff such as Excavation, Fishing, and Mining.
As you gain levels, you can choose which stat you would want to increase. Resetting levels could carry the high stats you gained when you go back to level 1. If you had high Attack at level 100, and reset, you'll have higher attack than normal users do at level 1.

main()
{
addGoodBoost( player , level );
}

There. Good boost added.
Oh? You wanted something different? TELL US WHAT YOU WANT.
Mcmmo scales for each bracket, or tier of leveling, typically 250, 500, 750. And power for bonuses scales linearly with it. Unarmed has Iron Fist, which adds .5 hearts to your unarmed damage after the initial boost, the smallest increment it can add. Do you want us to add a smaller boost? Rewrite minecraft to take more hearts.
Code doesn't take "good boosts" it take functions, math, and specifics spelled out to the last error check. Don't expect us to pull the perfect balanced function out of our butts so y'all can have easier noob time.

1ce. Couldnt you just implement that Md plugin on the pokemon server? That way we could have types which are super-effective etc.
This isnt such a bad idea

I keep trying to tell people, we are trainers, and the idea one one trainer always being super effective against EVERY SINGLE OPPOSING POKEMON in the opponents party is simply ridiculous.

That has been clarified at spawn, top line of the board.

I think it fits better if we are the pokemon instead of the trainer because

1) trainers don't personally attack, or train themselves
2) currently no one has thought of (or brought to your guys' attention) a way to implement Pokemon Parties/Owning
    Pokemon
3) this would be so fun!

Lol it would be PWND if I was wanting us to have parties, which I'm not......
 All I am suggesting is leveling up and types....

I was holding back until someone else said something.

But really, I highly doubt this will ever come to fruition.

1) reread. Your equips are your pokemon.

3) anything can be fun, doesn't mean its possible.
