Looks as if Dual Wielding is being added into Minecraft 1.9 :D

Actually by the looks of it, your character will still be right handed, just that they'll have the ability to use their left hand now (do they even have "hands"? o.O) Unless there was something I missed regarding which hand is used.

It was also said you will be able to change your dominant hand apparently.

So if you duel wield two swords, you can hit with your right hand and block with your left? It says you can't attack with your left hand but i'm guessing you can block.

Blocking with a sword (probably due to shields) was removed from minecraft, so holding two swords would just be an intimidation factor if you did.

Yeah, as Kash said, you also have the option to change your dominant hand in the settings.
I'm already hella excited for this update. Shields! :D I'm still holding out for spears though. :p

After all of the other updates of the end, item cooldowns, and everything else, the latest snapshot has added in...
Hooking players with fishing rods and being able to reel them in.
Pushing of Players and Mobs.
Should be fun.
