So I heard about it before I started playing a little while back, and now that I am at the Power plant the doors you can't open are really bothering me... What purpose do you think they have...if any

They probably will have a purpose in the future, like in a mystery gift giving you a pass card or something.

I read somewhere, I think on Serebii, that Volcanion has something to do with the blackout in Lumiose. Theres also reference to a 'lava dome' pokemon there too.
