Happy birthday. Be glad knowing that you are one year closer to your destruction. This may not be cheery, but birthdays are not meant to be cheery. They are meant to distract the person from knowing he/she is getting older, and will die sooner. So after knowing all of that, I hope you have a great birthday, even if this might be late.

It also is for celebrating your birth. It's not like we are celebrating that there is less time in our lives, rather celebrating all that you've done since you were born. The healthy human mind doesn't see everyday as being closer to death. You can say everyday is a distraction from death. While being prepared is better than to be off guard, there really is no point in preparing for something that is unavoidable. Causes of death are avoidable, but if you're dead, then you are dead. And as far as we(maybe not all of us) know our days aren't numbered. Living everyday like it's your last isn't a good idea if you are going to live a long time(How would we know? :T). Birthdays are here to give us a day to live it like it's our last. Whether you care or not it's an important day that started your history. We all have diverse perspectives, that is why the world is what it is today. But your view on birth and the remainder of your days is a little depressing.
