Before we start no these do not have to deal with stats.
What I find unfair is that challengers can't time out... E4 can time out why can't challengers time out of their E4 challenge. There badges will still be taken they just are no longer in the battle because some people want to challenge the E4 and most of the time the challenges take a while and if the challenger is off for 5 or more days BAM they lose the challenge automaticaly.

If a challenger were off for 5 days or longer, they would have to have a similar 'good' reason just like any other elite would. It isn't written anywhere, but it should be. It just makes sense.

I can see that you are new to the forums, but just to let you know if a forum hasn't been posted on in a few months it is dead. You only revive them if you want to be a dick, not just liking the original post. Also this comment is pretty much useless seeing you could have instead given him a rare candy to improve his tameness. Instead of reviving a dead thread with the word "I really like this one too."
