Dics drives are still needed. Software developer find it mush easier to put their data on a dics for purchase reather than a USB. $.25 vs $15 is a big difference. Also on the other hand there is digital downloads but in this case many consumers find it more comforting to have an atual copy of their software when compared to only having an online program SAY they have it. And do not forget Blu Rays.

And do not forget Blu Rays.I still think that with things like Blu-ray, there is potential to minimize the size of discs to make storage more convenient. Eg. Use the gamecube size discs to store data.
