This is just a simple suggestion, but may be pretty cool. I was thinking of maybe adding in pages for the website for each gym. On each page, it will display the current leader and co-leader, along with a few snapshots of the gym. Also, maybe they can also add fun stuff like polls or status updates or something. Just a way for gym leaders to put their input on the website :) I don't mind if this idea is shut down though, but just want to share my idea.

Theres a gym leader secretion on the forums. This information was meant to be recorded, but people are lazy..
-
Not a bad idea. It would be a good way to research the gym you challenge before you waste your time challenging one which obviously requires more training

On a serious note I think this is a great idea it's just the fact that people get lazy and this requires a lot of work for that reason only I dont think it'd get passed
-
Great idea and should put it on the pokemonserver website:)

I'm half scared and half horny.
On a related note, this can be done quite easily, just have each leader make their own *gymname*.html file and upload it to the server.
ex. www.pokemonserver.net/gyms/pallettowngym.html

If you really want, I can get started on an HTML file to be used for the website. Can I just go ahead and create my own CSS file for the webpage too?

I'm familiar with both html and css as well, but this has to go through admins approval first.

I am webpage-code illiterate, but all the current files for stuff like Home, Skins, Rules, etc are php files. I don't know how that determines which language you use, but that's a forewarning. Would you expect the Gym Section to be like one of those links, or a completely separate page, with new headers/footers etc?

I think it would depend on how you want it setup. We could use the default setting or just have the webpage have only one button that sends you back to the main page. Here's a little map of the link layout:
Home Page -> Pokemon Gyms -> Gym Page
Gym Page -> PokemonGyms
So you can check a page, click the "Back" button to go back to the Gym list.

Sorry for reviving this, but it is a good idea. I know I would keep one of these. Maybe I can do so on tbe wiki, or rather every leader can do so? Would you admins be okay with me doing this but on the wiki?
-
holy shit, 2 years?
Anyway, I doubt it would work very well, since A. Hardly anyone uses the wiki, B. GymLeaders are hardly stable in their positions, C. It would be more work for us to remove them from the site in addition to the annoyance of removing them in game.

This is where Plugins with web integration come in handy.

Okay. I think it woule be nice to use tbe wiki. I remeber that I used to go on it for historic information about the server. Quite nice addition if you ask me.

And I will stop reviving such old posts. Unless it is really urgent.

I don't think its bad to revive it, just that none of us are capable of making something efficient from it.
-
well if we could find a way to make it work out i vote yes lol

Do you admins think I could make a "gym leader page" on the forums with something similar to this idea? Or even a blog (if I can figure out how to use it)
I would personally be willing to keep it updated, and pass it onto the next Vermilion Leader at some point. Maybe do something similar to the Building of regions where the Head Builders are also Moderators.
-
Weird. If I recall, the last time I discussed this was back when me and hixhen had a lovely heated debate. By heated, I mean as hot as 6 big suns fused together. But anyway, what is all the hubaloo about now?

Wiki's are community run, just keep it nice.
