We can always talk about it in this thread, on ts, or on the server in party chat. The book I mentioned wasnt offical but I already started reading it and I enjoy it lol. Anyone have any suggestions about how we can go about reading when when to met? Like should we read 1-2 chapters every week and met on a thursday for example on ts to discuss it or should it just be random reading and just talking in the party chat? I have never been in a book club before :p

I gotta book you could read but you guys may not like the suggestion. Though it is an amazing book.

Actually it is more of a history book so maybe it doesn't fit into the requirements for a book club. Never mind :)

I rarely play on the server anymore, so I'd think ts or this topic would be a good idea. I may start playing more often sooner or later.

that is a very good series as well  :) There is always the Maze Runner books as well.
Party Chat or here on the thread works for me, though I haven't a clue what ts is...

I have also added Moby Dick to my list for a book project.  To me, Divergent is more like a romance novel with a little fighting in between.  It hasn't been my favorite series. I'm into dystopian fiction but Divergent just didn't do it for me.

I was getting ready to read A Tale of Two Cities, by Charels Dickens, but I wouldn't mind re-reading A fault in our stars at the same time.

I guess we can discuss here on this topic where you can ask questions and share your thoughts on what happens in the book. All we need is a specific time that meets the needs for everyone in the club's timezone. As for more books after we finish each one let's all choose the next book. If any other members have a comment or thing they want to add on this post please do.

Have you tried the Mortal Instruments series? the first book is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
She also wrote another series that goes along with that one called the Infernal Devices, I believe the first of that series if Clockwork Angel.
She is currently writing a third series also. the Infernal devices takes place in the past, The Mortal instruments series takes place in the present, then the next series will take place in the future.

Is it okay if I suggest a Book Series? If not, too bad. I recommend reading the Alex Rider book series. I am currently on the 2nd to last book in the series and it is a very good series. Really suggest it if you are into spy/secret services type books.

Well here is an attempt at a review...

For those who haven't read the book, but plan to I would recommend that you finish anything you need to get done (pets walked, food made, fav shows set up on DVR, also grabbing a box of tissues might be a good idea) before your start reading, because once you begin reading you will NOT want to stop.

The first time I read this book, I did so in one night, it both warmed and broke my heart, it also brought laughter, sadness, and plenty tears. I had a hard time wrapping my head around parts of it. the second time made most of what the Author was trying to convey through the story make sense. The Fault in out Stars is one of the best books I have read in the past year.

An in-depth thought on the book...
John Green tackles the major questions of existence with humor, honesty, and grace. Hazel is dealing with a terminal form of cancer and yet this is not a story about dying but rather a story about truly living. Through the lives of the two main characters Green shows us that we are all in fact terminal, but that we largely decide how to spend our brief moments of life. Most lives are not triumphs or tragedies purely, but they are filled with moments of both.

Looking at our lives we are given such a short time, and most of us waste so much of that time with the busyness of day to day life, that we often forget to cherish the small things. Things such as being able to breath on our own, I never realized how lucky I am not to have to worry about things like the characters in this book deal with on a day to day basis.

Finished TFIOS.  It was a great book.  I haven't cried in 3 years (hide my emotions) and I shed a tear while reading it.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I can't wait for the movie, unlike with Divergent, which didn't follow the book at all.

Can you guys help me? For the school I am going to in September, I need to read for Summer Reading. They want us to take notes over the summer while reading these books. I will get extra-credit and be able to use these notes for the test and the essay we will need to write. How can I take good notes while reading a novel?

You came to the right place! Try looking out for something beyond the story. Like what is the meaning of the text. Look for symbolism and stuff. In high school, they don't want you to read stories, they want you to analyze a text and search for a deeper meaning. Or for some good notes talk about a subject from the book (ex. Character development, author's writing style, etc.). Or just read the book, then choose a topic or the main idea of the book. With this, you can give examples of how something changes or how one thing leads to another. Anyway just throwing it out there, it's really responsible of you to get started right away, I wish you the best of luck!
