Because it started hanging the server while it processed the giant list of all players, after the 1.7.9 update. We haven't made it a priority to investigate why the update caused the problem.
If you want the server to lag for 30+ seconds every time someone uses the command, we can add it back in. But I'd suggest a majority vote for that.

Because jimmy has a narcissism complex and enjoys seeing how many more mobs he's killed than everyone else.

I see no important reason to add it back, especially if it creates intense server lag. If you're interested in comparing mob kills with someone, just ask them.

Well kills don't really matter. If you really wanted to show everyone your stats, tell them. either way, it's just showing off.

I vote no to getting useless server lag for a command.
