Game Boy Advance SP
« on: April 05, 2013, 08:58:35 pm »
So I just got a GBA SP and I put my pokemon emerald in the cartridge slot and it doesn't go past the GBA sign.  When I put in my pokemon blue though it works.  Any ideas why?

Try blowing inside the cartridge and if that dont work make sure it is fully inside the slot

Did you get this SP used (most likely so I will continue)?

Try another advance game, if the same effect occurs I bet it's the metal lines thingys that read Advance games is wore out, but the ones reading GB games is still working.  Happened to the third SP my dad brought home from the garbage.  I personally couldn't figure out how to fix it at the time, but the guys I knew down at Microplay taught me how to fix it.  You just got to replace the metal thingys in the SP with ones from another one.

Take a q-tip and wipe down the metal inside the cartige. If that doesn't work then add a little rubbing alcohol to the tip and try wiping it again. Give feedback.

You could also try blowing inside the slot where you insert the cartridge.
