Title: Error "outdated server"
Post by: Maihna on October 25, 2012, 11:14:43 am: Hello, Ive been playing on the pokemon server for two days but today I wasn't able to get in to the server. It just said "outdated server" What do they mean with that and why did it happen?

Post by: alexandred3 on October 25, 2012, 11:17:22 am: The server will be in 1.3.2 until all the Bukkit Plugins updated. If you updated to 1.4 you won't be able to play on the server unless you still have a 1.3.2 .jar file.

Anybody want to help me out?

Ok, the file you run is a python script (MCNostalgia2.1.2.py)

To run it, you need to install Python, which is a coding program I think.

Then, make sure you have force updated to the latest version of minecraft (1.4.2) so that you have a clean.jar file.

Then exit minecraft, run the MCNostalgia2.1.2.py script, and follow the onscreen instructions.

You can patch your minecraft all the way back to indev :p

I got clients going back to indev :p MCNostalgia isn't exactly hard to use..

I ran the file, and had the latest version of minecraft, however I have never understood the .jar file, nor have I been successful in finding it. I was not aware that minecraft had to be running, but i ran the .py script by itself. The "onscreen instructions" look like a jumbled mess of codes and awkward phrases that lack any sense of grammar or syntax. I will try and decipher the meaning of this, but I can't seem to assure myself, give or take an online community. Moving on, once i follow the "instructions," I should be playing on my original minecraft file, correct? Will it be in the MCNostalgia2.1.2 folder? While you (hopefully) give more orders, I will try to work more, as I just finished my science paper(s) on transpiration.

I press enter and nothing happens except a generic move of the text. I have a sense that something should be working differently. Forgot to mention AGAIN that I am on a mac computer.

EDIT: Going to bed, away from computer, not from phone. Translated: No experiments or MC, only forums.

I seem to have deleted python off my computer...
What is this 'generic' move of the text? I'm also on a mac lol.

MCNostalgia patches the miencraft.jar file in the minecraft directory, so no need to play around with transferring the .jar files around...
Also, if you're like me and have a few different .jar files lying around, MagicLauncher is a good tool to have.

At first I tried only removing/replacing the minecraft.jar, but that didn't work. I then attempted to remove/replace all .jar files. Still didn't work. Am I putting a square peg in a round hole here?

I heard on HF that wasn't a release made by Bukkit. Also, this issue is resolved and the topic can be closed.
