Ok, so I was looking up things that are new in 1.4.6, and I came across this http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enchanted_Book (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enchanted_Book)
If you read closely, it shows that enchants now may be placed irregularly, which includes the ability to add sharpness, fire aspect, and all those nice sword enchants, onto axes. I raise this point because, with McMMO powering up axes, along with these enchants, axes will become OP, and crush the other McMMO melee stats. Knowing the admin team, I'm sure you already have, or are in the process of making, a solution for this once we upgrade to 1.4.6. I made this topic to raise awareness of the issue, and hopefully give us a head start on solving it.

What will sharpness actually DO for an axe though.

In Enchantmore, it makes trees chop faster or some gathering thing like that.

Oh, so enchantmore overrides the intended vanilla purpose?

Well it doesn't currently have a vanilla effect.
If I hit you with a sharpness 100 axe right now, (enchantmore isnt installed)
Nothing would should happen.

Ok sharpness 100 is a 1-hit ko.

1ce recall my enchanted book exploit I showed you. With a high enough sharpness I was able to kill ali in 1 hit and break his armour. It was ProtIV armour too.
I'm sure mcMMO will have some fun stuff with this hopefully.

What sharpness was it? Thinking realistically, only sharp IV is the highest possible legitimately as V only is possible via anvils. [/quote]

Even if it's possible via anvil, it's still legitimate. Also, I tested a sharpness 5 axe this morning, and it two hits people, and that's only with 21 axes. . .

And you two shotted someone in what? Naked? Diamond Armor? Prot IV Diamond Armor?

Sharpness 32767. It was created using an exploit in books and enchanted items. Sharpness V is still possible on wood I believe.
