Title: So I'ma be the first to call it...
Post by: Zan-Zero on January 27, 2013, 06:49:33 pm
Chespin's final typing - Grass/Dark
Fennekin's final typing - Fire/Psychic
Froakie's final typing - Water/Fighting

If you watch the trailer close you see the starters use moves of these types.
Not only that, but these typings would give a level of equality we havent seen in starters.
Your rival will be a true rival, seeing as Grass > Water, but Fighting > Dark.
Same goes for Fennekin.
This would make it so that one friend who chose the typing against you wont just destroy you every time.
You will be 100% equal.
What do you guys think?
Also, character customization. Just a wild guess from seeing the mirror and wardrobe in the beginning of the trailer.

Gen 4 had the type equality as well. I thought I heard somewhere that it as confirmed tat all three starters had no extra type.

Torterra- Grass/Ground
Infernape-Fire/Fighting
Empoleon-Water/Steel
I see no type equality.

Plot Twist: All Gen 6 starters turn out to be Fire/Fighting.

There is. There's the obvious grass>water>fire>grass but the other types make it so the weaker starter can beat the stronger.
Torterra's ground type makes it strong against fire (Infernape) when it's normally not. Infernape's fire and fighting types makes it strong against Empoleon's extra steel type when normally it's water would beat Infernape. Empoleon's steel type makes it resistant to Torterra's grass when normally it would be weak to it.

But it's not exactly 100% equal if Empoleon's typing isn't super effective against Torterra's, is it? Not to mention that Torterra being a Ground type makes it super effective against Empoleon, even though Grass is not very effective against Steel.

They said the STARTERS have stale typing, not their evolutions.
Just a guess anyway.
If they turn out to be monotype  :lazor: .

I think you nailed it, their designs also give it away.
Also, found a leak of 2-chan, take it for a grain of salt for now.

I think that the fire type will be fire/fighting because all of them from 3rd gen up were fire/fighting

The water type will probably be water/ground because they are weak to grass types

And the Grass type will be grass/dark or grass/steel

I like Zero's reasoning though.
