Title: No hollow houses
Post by: Sahaquiel_9 on July 19, 2013, 12:16:27 am
I suggest that houses that are hollowed out to bedrock should be banned.  Once, I was looking down into a hollowed out house and a skeleton pushed me down to the bottom to my death.  That wasn't fun.  I lost my training sword and some armor.  Hollowed out houses are a nuisance and should be banned because unknowing players may walk into one of those houses and die.  The owners of the house may camp at the bottom of their houses waiting for a person to drop into it, taking the player's stuff.  I find that hollow houses are tools for trolls and should be banned. (and don't respond, tene.  we all know that you have a hollowed out house to the void)

If you don't want to take the risk, don't go near the house.

Its up to the owner what they do with their house interior.

if a door is open, you're allowed to go in.  If the door is open (or there are no doors), then the owner is fine with people going inside his/her house.  However, if the owner doesn't want anyone in the house, you shouldn't go in and you should be punished for it.

If you enter someones house, you accept any consequence that may befall you in said house, including death.

And anyways, did I ever say I entered the house willingly?  I looked down and a skeleton pushed me in.  I never ran right into the house.

If you were looking in, you should accept the fact you could have been pushed in by a mob, or even pressed the wrong button and accidentally walked in.

Most people steer clear of sheer drops out of fear of death and want for personal safety.

That's why curiosity killed the cat.  He got too close to a cliff while looking down and died.  The dog pushed it down.

Well don't complain about something that doesn't affect anyone because of your misfortunes.

I agree, unknowing people aka me, I was once In viridian and walked into a house not knowing it was hollow, and I fell to my death. See , the owners know exactly what they are doing. They are basically farming noobs.

I'm sure that others have problems with hollow houses and on some servers, it's illegal to hollow out houses for the reason in the first post on this thread.

Well now you can keep in mine Rule 9.

How is digging a hole in a house violation of any rules? Its not illegal to modify the interior of houses, thats what they're there for actually.
Its no different than having a pit of lava or a piston trap or something similar in a house.

Now, do you also have issues with people doing this in the wilderness? Because I know some people enjoy mining out whole chunks of land down to bedrock.

Hold shift. You can't fall off edges.
