I think it would be fun to add legendary pokemon on the server by using a mob boss plugin such as "LikeABoss" or "EpicBoss"

He's gonna be the first person to ever create ModDamage INSIDE ModDamage. AND make improvements.

I know, its lame but I couldn't think of anything else >.<
In all seriousness though, 1ce is right. From reading the desriptions of those plugins Jord suggested, 1ce is able to use ModDamage to have a percentage of mobs spawn with an increased health, or attack damage (as far as my knowledge of the plugin goes). This similar thing was used to allow ghasts to spawn in the nether.
Also, these legendary 'pokemon' would probably appear more as 'roaming pokemon', but instead of catching them, you 'kill' them. Pretend that killing the 'boss' mob acts as a pokemon fleeing battle and must be found elsewhere.
If these are given extremely small spawnrates, but extremely high health/attack damage (perhaps not overpowered) they could act as legendaries.
Another possibility for the legendaries that stay in the one place, have a script block walk event where that pokemon would otherwise be that will spawn one of these 'boss' mobs. Of course, a high delay on activating the scriptblock would have to be put in to prevent abuse...

Actually the EpicBoss has setlocation so in terms of them being in specific places that is possible. And if we can do it with moddamage GREAT. I just think it would be a fun thing to have by adding in the legendary pokemon. Make them so strong that players would have to do it in parties.

And I don't know moddamage well, but these plugins can give mobs ablilities. Can it also do that?

Define 'Ability'
It may (i don't know, ask 1ce) be possible for these 'boss' mobs to deal fire damage, extra kockback damage or give a potion effect when they attack. I'm almost certain that they can be configured to inflict more damage.
Once again, this is in the expertise of 1ce, I'm just thinking of ways it could be used :p

Look at the spawnrate of blazes. Extremely low, yet they are still encountered. And as if giants aren't already overpowered to new players... (Or any player for that matter)

I remember the first day MobsInGrass was introduced, a bunch of new people on route one were getting one shotted by giants...

Even experienced players still get caught by them. Imagine the power of a giant in a regular zombie :p

Well most bosses are in specific locations that you only go to fight the boss like zapdos, arcticuno, moltres and mewtwo. Generally bosses aren't along paths and would prevent newbies from progressing baring snorlax of course. Although in the game you are not meant to be able to pass snorlax for awhile so this could actually be good.

Couldn't you hop or swim around Snorlax though?

I'm going to try something. You may start seeing "Legendary Pokemon (read: mobs)" around Kanto.
For now, they will have no special powers. They will only be visually different.

Haha, I just thought. Visually different mobs could be the equivalent of shiny pokemon ;)

Just give Tene a POWER V bow and 1k Archery and those bosses will be nothing. :P
On a side note. Just use the new 1.4 mobs with armor and stuff.
On a side side note. Giants only wrecked because when they spawn they auto dealt damage meaning if you were unlucky to spawn 3 giants at once you're screwed.

Then the legendaries will no longer be spawning in only mt mortar.
